SSB
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005585
A type of amplitude modulation used in radio communications that reduces power consumption and bandwidth by transmitting only one of the two sidebands of the modulated signal. Single-Sideband (SSB) modulation suppresses the carrier wave and the redundant sideband, making it more efficient for long-distance voice communication than standard AM. This method is widely used in amateur radio, aviation, and marine communications where spectrum efficiency is a priority.
