Envelope detector

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-002052

A circuit designed to extract the modulating signal from an amplitude-modulated (AM) radio frequency carrier wave. It typically consists of a diode and a low-pass filter, which rectifies the AM signal and then smooths out the high-frequency carrier component. This process recovers the original audio or data information from the modulated signal.
