Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000223
A type of early radio wave detector whose electrical resistance increases upon exposure to radio frequency energy. This device functions as the inverse of a coherer, which exhibits a decrease in resistance under similar conditions. Anticoherers were constructed using materials like a fine metal point resting lightly on a conductive surface, such as a carbon block or a pool of mercury.
