Radio over Internet Protocol, a technology that allows two-way radio communication to be transmitted over an IP network, such as the internet. It converts analog radio signals into digital packets for transmission and then back to analog at the receiving end. This extends the range and interoperability of traditional radio systems, often used for connecting disparate radio networks.
