Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004904
An individual plant that exhibits characteristics different from the desired standard for a particular crop variety. These off-type plants arise from genetic mutation, cross-pollination, or seed mixing and are undesirable in seed production fields because they compromise genetic purity.
