A communication mode where data or signals can only be transmitted in one direction, from a sender to a receiver, without any return path. This contrasts with half-duplex, which allows two-way communication but not simultaneously, and full-duplex, which permits simultaneous two-way communication. Examples include traditional radio broadcasting or one-way paging systems.
