Duplexer

An electronic device that allows a single antenna to be used for both transmitting and receiving signals simultaneously or alternately, by isolating the transmitter from the receiver. It prevents the powerful outgoing transmit signal from damaging the sensitive receiver. Duplexers are commonly employed in radar systems, two-way radio communication, and cellular base stations.
