Duralumin
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001917
An early type of age-hardenable aluminum alloy, primarily composed of aluminum with copper as the main alloying element, along with smaller amounts of magnesium and manganese. This alloy gains strength through precipitation hardening after heat treatment. Duralumin found widespread use in early aircraft construction due to its high strength-to-weight ratio.
