Autosyn
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000342
A type of rotary electrical transformer used for transmitting angular position information from a rotating shaft to a remote indicator. It consists of a rotor and a three-phase stator winding, operating as a transmitter and receiver pair. As the transmitter's rotor turns, it induces voltages in the stator that are transmitted to the receiver, causing its rotor to align itself with the transmitter's angle, thus replicating the motion at a distance.
