Ripsaw

A type of saw specifically designed for cutting wood along the grain, or ripping. Its teeth are typically larger, fewer in number, and have a chisel-like profile to efficiently sever the wood fibers. Ripsaws are used for reducing the width of boards or creating narrower strips from larger stock.
