Crosscut saw

A large saw designed to cut wood perpendicular to the grain, featuring a distinctive tooth pattern that scores and clears wood fibers efficiently. These saws are made for one or two people, with a handle at each end for two-person models used to fell large trees or buck logs into sections. While largely replaced by chainsaws in commercial logging, they are still used for trail maintenance in wilderness areas where motorized equipment is prohibited.
