Run up

To increase an aircraft engine's power to a high setting while the aircraft is stationary on the ground, performed as a final pre-flight check. This procedure allows the pilot or maintenance technician to verify that the engines are operating correctly and to test systems like magnetos, propellers, and generators. During a run up, engine parameters such as oil pressure, temperature, and RPM are monitored against manufacturer specifications.
