Russia linen

A coarse cloth woven from hemp that Russian mills produced in large quantity in the 18th century and sold abroad. It was valued for its strength and often left in its natural unbleached color, which suited sacking and other heavy goods. Although sold as linen, its fiber was hemp rather than flax.
