Schoolmarm

A tree with a forked trunk, where two or more main stems originate from a single base, resembling a person with outstretched arms. This growth pattern results from damage to the main leader or genetic predisposition. Schoolmarms are often considered less desirable for timber due to their irregular form and reduced lumber yield.
