Stool

The base of a plant, such as a shrub or herbaceous perennial, from which new shoots or tillers arise from the ground. In horticulture and forestry, stooling is a propagation method where a plant is cut back to its base to encourage the growth of multiple new stems. These new stems, once rooted, can be separated to form new, individual plants.
