Antitranspirant

A chemical compound applied to plant foliage to reduce water loss through transpiration. These substances form a thin film on the leaf surface or influence stomatal closure, thereby conserving moisture in the plant. Antitranspirants are used in horticulture to protect plants during drought, transplanting, or in arid conditions.
