Self-clamp

A mechanism or device designed to automatically secure an object without external manual intervention once positioned. This action is often achieved through cam action, spring force, or wedge designs that engage when a load is applied or a component is inserted. Self-clamping systems are frequently found in workholding fixtures and quick-release mechanisms.
