Stenopaeic
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-005646
Relating to a small aperture or pinhole used to improve visual acuity by reducing the effects of refractive errors. A stenopaeic slit or pinhole restricts the light entering the eye to a narrow pencil of rays, thereby increasing the depth of field and minimizing blur from uncorrected vision. This principle is applied in pinhole glasses or diagnostic tools for ophthalmology.
