Overrefraction
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004085
A secondary refractive measurement performed on a patient already wearing corrective lenses, such as glasses or contact lenses, to determine any necessary adjustments to their prescription. The procedure measures the residual refractive error that is not corrected by the current lenses. Results are expressed in diopters and are combined with the power of the existing lenses to calculate the new, final prescription for vision correction.
