Catadioptrics
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000994
The branch of optics concerned with the design and analysis of optical systems that use both mirrors (catoptrics) and lenses (dioptrics) to manipulate light. This field focuses on creating compact, high-performance imaging systems by correcting aberrations inherent in purely refractive or reflective designs. Catadioptric systems are widely applied in telescopes, microscopes, and photographic lenses.
