Catadioptric
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000993
Describing an optical system that combines both reflective and refractive elements to form an image. This design often reduces optical aberrations and allows for shorter overall system lengths compared to purely refractive or reflective systems. Telescopes like the Schmidt-Cassegrain and Maksutov-Cassegrain are common examples of catadioptric designs.
