Adaptive optics

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006742

A technology that corrects for distortions in an optical wavefront caused by a medium, such as atmospheric turbulence or aberrations in a lens. It employs deformable mirrors and wavefront sensors to dynamically adjust the optical path, improving image clarity and resolution. This technique is widely used in astronomical telescopes and high-resolution microscopy.
