Anisoplanatism
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000211
A condition in adaptive optics where the atmospheric distortion varies across the field of view, preventing perfect correction over the entire image. This occurs when the light from different parts of the object travels through different atmospheric paths. It limits the effectiveness of adaptive optics systems, particularly for wide-field imaging.
