Steward

A member of a ship's crew responsible for attending to the needs of passengers and other crew members, particularly concerning lodging and meal service. In the merchant marine, the steward's department manages the galley, mess halls, and living quarters. The chief steward oversees the entire department, including ordering supplies, planning menus, and managing personnel within the galley and housekeeping staff.
