Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-007283
To apply solid pieces of wood, known as sticking or moulding, to the edges of a door or window sash's stiles and rails. This process creates the profiled edge that holds a glass pane or wood panel in place. The profile can be a simple bevel or a more decorative shape like an ovolo or ogee, and it is machined directly into the frame's inside edge before assembly.
