Cope and stick

A woodworking joint commonly used in frame and panel construction, such as cabinet doors. One piece of wood (the rail) has a 'cope' cut that matches the profile of the 'stick' cut on the other piece (the stile). This joint provides a strong mechanical connection and a decorative profile.
