Subsatellite

A smaller satellite that orbits a larger, primary satellite, rather than directly orbiting a planet or other celestial body. These are often deployed from a main spacecraft for specific scientific or observational missions. An example includes small probes released from a planetary orbiter to study its immediate environment.
