Aerocapture

A spacecraft maneuver that uses atmospheric drag to slow down and enter orbit around a celestial body. This technique involves a single pass through the planet's atmosphere to dissipate kinetic energy. It can significantly reduce the amount of propellant required compared to propulsive orbital insertion.
