Thunderbolt

A high-speed hardware interface developed by Intel with Apple that carries PCI Express data and DisplayPort video over one cable, with power delivery in later versions. Thunderbolt 3, 4 and 5 use the USB-C connector and link peripherals such as external displays, storage and docking stations. Thunderbolt 3 and 4 run at 40 Gb/s, whereas Thunderbolt 5 runs at 80 Gb/s, or up to 120 Gb/s in one direction when its asymmetric mode is enabled.
