VESA Local Bus: A computer bus standard developed by the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) in the early 1990s to provide a high-speed data path between the CPU and peripherals, primarily video cards. It offered a faster alternative to the ISA bus for graphics-intensive applications. VLB was largely superseded by the PCI bus.
