Bus bridge

A hardware device that connects two or more separate computer or industrial data buses, allowing them to communicate as a single logical bus. It forwards data packets between segments, isolating traffic and allowing different bus types or speeds to interconnect. A bridge operates at the data link layer (Layer 2) of the OSI model.
