Waney

Describing a board or timber that retains a portion of the original, rounded surface of the log, including the bark or sapwood. This characteristic results from sawing the log in a way that does not completely remove the outer edge. Waney edges are sometimes left intentionally for aesthetic purposes in rustic furniture or architectural elements.
