Waned

Describing a timber or board that retains some of the original rounded surface of the log from which it was cut, rather than having perfectly square edges. This occurs when the cut does not fully remove the sapwood or bark edge. Waned edges are sometimes acceptable in structural timbers, depending on grading rules.
