Edge banding

The process of applying a thin strip of material, such as PVC, wood veneer, or melamine, to the exposed edges of sheet goods like plywood or particleboard. This technique conceals the raw edges, provides a finished appearance, and protects against moisture and impact. Edge banding is commonly applied with heat-activated adhesive or specialized machinery.
