Drip edge

A metal flashing installed along the edges of a roof to direct water away from the fascia and prevent it from seeping underneath the roofing material. It extends slightly beyond the roof deck and fascia, forming a small overhang. This component protects the roof structure and prevents water damage to the building's exterior.
