Describing a material or component that can be penetrated by a drill bit without causing excessive wear to the tool or damage to the surrounding structure. This characteristic is determined by the material's hardness, abrasiveness, and internal structure. Many downhole tools in oil and gas wells are designed to be drillable for removal after use.
