Vickers hardness

A measure of the hardness of a material, determined by indenting the surface with a diamond pyramid indenter under a specific load. The hardness value is calculated from the load applied and the surface area of the indentation. This test is suitable for both macro and micro hardness measurements and is often used for thin sections or case-hardened surfaces.
