Boriding
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-000694
A thermochemical surface hardening process that diffuses boron atoms into the surface of a metal substrate, forming hard boride layers. This treatment significantly enhances the wear resistance, hardness, and corrosion resistance of components. Boriding is applied to steel, cast iron, and nickel-based alloys, creating surface hardness values up to 2000 HV.
