Zircaloy

A family of zirconium alloys primarily used as cladding for nuclear fuel rods in reactors due to their low neutron absorption cross-section and good corrosion resistance. These alloys typically contain small amounts of tin, iron, chromium, and nickel to enhance their mechanical properties and resistance to high-temperature water. Zircaloy-2 and Zircaloy-4 are common variants.
