An abbreviation for Zero-Order Hold, a method of signal reconstruction used in digital-to-analog conversion. It converts a sequence of discrete digital samples into a continuous-time signal by holding the value of each sample constant for the entire sampling period. This process results in a staircase-like analog output that approximates the original continuous signal.
