Dequantize

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001665

To convert a quantized signal back into an analog or higher-resolution digital form. This process involves interpreting the discrete levels of a quantized signal to reconstruct an approximation of the original continuous signal. In audio processing, dequantization aims to restore the nuances lost during the initial quantization step.
