Quantize
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-004618
To convert an analog signal into a digital signal by assigning a discrete numerical value to each sample of the analog waveform. This process involves dividing the continuous range of amplitude values into a finite number of steps. The number of quantization levels determines the resolution of the digital representation, with 8-bit quantization providing 256 distinct levels.
