Numerically Controlled Oscillator (NCO): A digital signal generator that produces a synchronous, discrete-time, quantized version of a waveform, typically sinusoidal. It uses a phase accumulator and a lookup table or a CORDIC algorithm to generate the output samples. NCOs are widely used in digital radio, telecommunications, and frequency synthesis applications within industrial systems.
