Anneal

To heat a material, typically a metal or glass, to a specific temperature and then cool it slowly to alter its microstructure. This process reduces hardness, increases ductility, and relieves internal stresses, making the material more workable. Annealing temperatures and cooling rates are specific to the material and desired properties.
