Lookout

A short, cantilevered framing member that extends beyond the exterior wall of a building to support the roof sheathing and fascia board at the eaves. These members are typically spaced at regular intervals along the rafter tails. Lookouts contribute to the overhang of the roof, providing protection to the walls.
