Edgebanding

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-001968

A thin strip of material, such as PVC, ABS, wood veneer, or melamine, applied to the exposed edges of sheet materials like plywood or particleboard. This process creates a durable and aesthetically pleasing finish, protecting the core material from moisture and impact. Edgebanding machines use hot-melt adhesive to bond the strip to the substrate, often trimming and buffing the edges in a continuous operation.
