Bark

A sailing vessel typically characterized by having three or more masts, with the fore-and-aft sails on the aftermost mast and square sails on all other masts. This rig combines the speed of square sails with the maneuverability of fore-and-aft sails. Barks were common cargo carriers in the 19th century.
