Sail

A large piece of fabric or other material set on a mast or stay to catch the wind and propel a vessel. Sails are designed in specific shapes and sizes to generate lift and thrust from the wind's force. They are controlled by ropes and sheets to adjust their angle and trim relative to the wind direction.
