Wild

Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006603

Relating to an electrical power source, particularly an AC generator, whose output frequency and voltage are not regulated to a constant value. The output parameters fluctuate with the rotational speed of the prime mover, such as a wind turbine or an unregulated engine. This type of power must be conditioned by power electronics, like an inverter or converter, before it can be connected to a standard grid or used to power frequency-sensitive equipment.
