Zeptojoule
Term · Industrial and trades · MLC-T-IND-006727
A unit of energy equal to one sextillionth (10⁻²¹) of a joule, with the symbol zJ. It is used in quantum physics and chemistry to quantify the tiny amounts of energy involved in molecular or atomic processes, such as the kinetic energy of a single atom. The thermal energy of a single atom at room temperature is on the order of a few zeptojoules.
